20th anniversay of the LIFE+ Programme

lifeThe EU celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of the LIFE+ Programme. This tool represents the financial instrument of the EU supporting environmental and nature conservation in Europe with approximately €2,5 billion.

Within this occasion, the Region of Madrid has hosted an event gathering private and public stakeholders to celebrate this landmark. The ERF was present in the event together with other partners of the New Jersey Project as Region of Madrid, Acciona, Cidaut and Signus. The initiative aims to give an use to end-of-life tyres and plastics by installing them on our roads improving simultaneously road safety. This project will finish by June 2015 and shows the commitment of the road sector to improve sustainability while improving mobility.

Together with New Jersey, the ERF is firmly committed to adapt road infrastructure to current environment needs through the management of two Working Groups on Noise and Sustainability which are gathering initiatives and ideas developed by members in this area.
