ERF launches dedicated website on Road Restraint Systems

charter_logoAt times of economic constraint, road restraint systems are cost-effective tool readily available to policy makers.   This is one of the main messages of the brand new website launched by the European Union Road Federation entitled ‘RRS & Road Safety’.

The website aims to establish itself as a reference, providing a range of information about road restraint systems in Europe for specialists and non-specialists alike.  Amongst others, it will feature a ‘case studies/statistics’ section which will aim to provide tangible empirical data about how passive safety devices can improve safety by mitigating the effects of car crashes.  Moreover, it will contain a specific section dedicated to ERF members, where visitors can get an overview of the various road safety solutions offered by top professionals in the field.

‘I am confident that this website will help raise awareness of the very important role passive safety devices can play to bring down fatalities at European level.  Most accidents occur on secondary roads which most often than not, lack any sort of road side protection against dangerous obstacles.  These can be prevented by simply installing a road barrier which compared to other solutions, represents excellent value for money’ explains Christophe Nicodème, ERF Director General.

The dedicated website is available at: www.rrs.erf.be
